FAQ

Have Any Questions?

Do you only offer a fully managed service?

Not at all. While the majority of our clients choose to work with us on an ongoing basis, you have the option to choose the expertise you require. We will always encourage you to look at your long-term, mid-term and short-term strategies to ensure you utilise us and gain the most value, but we do work on individual projects if and when required?

How much do you charge?

Prices will vary from client to client depending on what they want to achieve, how complex the industry is and how much of the team (and degrees of seniority) they require. However, as a rough guide, our retained clients pay on average £65 per hour and ad hoc/project based clients pay about £85 an hour.

Do you have lengthy contracts?

We don’t believe in tying clients up in onerous contracts. That said, we do commit to your business and will invest significantly more time into the relationship in the first three months than we charge for. We also offer a slightly reduced rate for those first three months as we don’t believe in learning on our clients’ tabs. So, because of this, we do ask for a minimum six month rolling contract which can be ended with a clear month’s notice after the initial 6 month period. Clients who sign up to 12 month rolling contracts will also receive better rates. However, we are fortunate to have long standing relationships with our clients because of the support, value and service we offer.

What do I need to bring to my free consultation?

The purpose of the consultation is to establish what has brought you to speak with us initially and to see how we can help. So we will need t know a little bit about the business, where it is now, how that compares to where it was 12 months, 3 years and 5 years ago. What’s working well, what’s not working so well? We will want to look at some examples of activities you have been carrying out and data as to how it has performed. And we will want to know a little about your competitors too. We will need to see your website and social media pages and will also want to know about any software you may use. However, don’t panic. Before your consultation, you will be sent an email where we will ask some of these questions in advance so that we can talk in more detail when  we do speak/meet.

What if I want my in house team to implement a plan created by you?

That is absolutely fine. In order for us to devise a detailed strategy, we will initially carry out a market research project. While we will no doubt speak with your team as part of this process, we do need to carry out this work ourselves. Off the back of our initial research, we will create an outline strategy, suggested timeline and estimated budgets. Your team can then take this plan and implement it themselves.

How long does it take to create a strategy?

This is very much client dependent. Different businesses have different degrees of complexity, markets and products and so the amount of research is project to project dependent. Typically, for an average client, from the initial meeting and proposal acceptance we will have the research and strategy completed in 4 – 6 weeks. For bigger projects and more complex clients, this can be up to 3 months.

How much input is required by me?

In the early stages, we will require some input from you to ensure you are happy and that we are hitting the mark with our activities. Your involvement at this stage is likely to be signing off content, design work or working alongside us to develop a new website for example. We will most likely speak a few times a week, have a detailed WIP meeting weekly and, if possible or preferred, a face-to-face once a month. If we’re working with your in house team, we will most probably have some sort of daily contact with them. We tend to find that, as we work together longer, clients need to speak with us less. We will continue to report in, but most clients leave us to just get on and keep doing a good job. We’re very much lead by you and your preferences though.

What are your payment terms?

The majority of our clients work on retainers. The retainer fee is invoiced, in advance, each month. Design fees are charged in addition to our marketing management retainer fees and these are payable within 7 days of invoice. Disbursements such as print, ad space, fulfilment, etc. are all payable by return.
